BUPi emerged in 2017, in the pilot phase, with the aim of getting to know Portuguese territory in a simple and innovative way and is based on 4 objectives:

LAUNCH IN 10 MUNICIPALITIES
Beginning of the pilot project activities in the selected municipalities, during the period of one year.

January 2018

CREATION OF BUPi LAB
Design of an automated method capable of facilitating the acquisition and organization of knowledge about the territory.

May 2018

OPENING OF NEW SERVICE COUNTERS
Expansion of the network of BUPI’s service counters in order to respond to population adherence.

August 2019

BUPI EXPANSION
Published the law that determines the expansion of BUPi to the national territory.

September 2020

NEW MUNICIPALITIES JOIN
Definition of requirements for phased accession to BUPi.
